Do you feel the connection?

Sculpture is where the creativity is grown.

Amor Fati, love of fate.

Amor Fati describes, in a sense, that everything that happens in life is good and necessary.

It also describes an acceptance of life events, including death and loss. I use this term to characterize this body of work as it relates so well to the process of making, failing, and accepting the flaws revealed when making sculpture by hand.

Stacks.

An ongoing series of sculptural ceramic forms taking influence from natural forms, paper, and objects found within decrepit abandoned spaces.

Bower.

Bower is a collection of sculptures in an ongoing series.

These cocoon-like sculptures evoke protection and safe spaces. Constructed by hand using porcelain clay, Lauren allows the material to move and flow in her hands and she presses and pulls to bring out the form.

Rock Drawings.

A collection of beach rocks/beach bricks handpicked from the shores of Lake Erie.

Each one has a drawing on one or both sides and is finished with a matte varnish.
