Description
Lauren HB Studio is a multi-faceted art studio producing pottery and sculpture, operated by owner/founder Lauren Herzak-Bauman. The studio is located in Lakewood, Ohio on the 1st floor of a warehouse building. We are a close-knit studio and operate in tandem and independently of one another. More than the right experience, we seek people with a great attitude, willingness to learn and communicate, take responsibility for their actions, and are honest and transparent. Skills can be taught, but other values are inherent to each individual. We seek in people inherent maturity, self-motivation and determination, curiosity, and kindness.
The ideal candidate will be self-directed with a desire to work within the established studio practices, while also staying open and flexible to new modes and methods. This person must constantly be working to improve and create better organization and functionality of the Studio’s equipment, processes, and systems, and not need to wait for direction before seeing what needs to be done. This position requires a massive amount of training and on-boarding. The ideal candidate would plan to spend at least 2 years in the position.
Desired Qualifications/Skills
Teamwork oriented, yet independent.
Attention to detail.
Visual acuity, hand-eye coordination, attention to detail.
Work in a non-climate controlled environment.
Must love to be on your feet and work with your hands. This is a very physical job. You must be able to lift 50-pound bags, sit, stand, squat, bend, kneel, push, pull, reach with arms, and handle/feel objects. And high five.
The ability to organize workload and multitask amongst different production responsibilities.
A bit of ceramics experience is great, but not required.
Must love to learn! If you don’t have the experience, we will teach you. Plan to be a sponge.
Must be able to reliably commute to Lakewood, OH
